The Ideal Way for Your Group to Learn and Enjoy It

One of the major goals of the Waccamaw Indian Arts Committee is to help others understand the rich cultural history of South Carolina’s indigenous people. We want everyone to develop an accurate concept of our people’s legacy, our relationship with the land which gave us sustenance and healing, and our folkways. Many ask questions about our people. So many of those questions reveal misconceptions, based possibly on the way we have been depicted by the entertainment industry.

Because of others’ desire to know more, the Arts Committee has arranged for groups to request presentations. We routinely send Presenters to schools, libraries, museums, and other facilities, where they show artifacts and demonstrate their use, tell indigenous stories, do slide presentations, and relate otherwise how we lived and who we are.

Would your group like to know . . .

If so, please contact Susan Hayes to schedule a presentation. Some presentations are gratis, but some carry a fee. Susan will help you determine whether your group is eligible for a complimentary session.

To contact her for a presentation, please call (843) 358-6877, or email afretsusan@gmail.com.
